Abbeyhill Baptist - A Haven of Hope!
Isaiah 32: 2: like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land.
What is the dream?
To be a haven of hope where all are welcomed and can discover Jesus, follow Him, and be encouraged to show and share His love.
John 1: 4-5: In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
What does this mean?
A haven is a place of safety, refuge, and peace, where people are protected, welcomed, and able to rest or find comfort. We want the church community to be a place where individuals, both within and without, find such a haven.
As they are they are welcomed to this haven our prayer is that they encounter Jesus and receive eternal hope – no matter what they are currently going through! Jesus is the ultimate source of peace, joy, comfort, strength and ultimately love and we long that they discover Jesus. As individuals discover Jesus, we encourage one another to share this hope with others.
